The Development Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of EPl's fundraising activities. This role focuses on maintaining the development pipeline health, maximizing results based on data management, optimizing fundraising campaigns, and ensuring that strategic objectives are met efficiently and effectively. This position reports to the Development Director and offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for environmental conservation and education along with international nonprofit experience.

Summary

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management of Fundraising Activities

  • Execute strategic fundraising initiatives coordinating across different channels (digital, events, direct mail) to ensure cohesive and unified messaging and
  • Monitor ongoing campaigns for effectiveness and engagement, making real-time adjustments to tactics based on performance data and donor

 Pipeline Management and Reporting:

  • Utilize Salesforce to analyze donor data, identifying trends and potential opportunities for increased donations and new donor acquisition based on trends and wealth screening
  • Utilize Salesforce to develop real-time forecasts of the year fundraising pipeline based on
  • Track progress toward fundraising goals and evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising activities
  • Create and implement targeted marketing and outreach campaigns that resonate with different donor segments, increasing engagement and conversion
  • Prepare and ensure regular internal and external reporting of fundraising activities, maintaining accountability and

 Team Supervision and Development:

  • Manage the daily operations of the development team (3 direct reports), setting individual and team goals, providing regular feedback, and conducting annual performance
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by promoting skills development through external training programs and internal cross-training.

 Financial and Resource Management:

  • Prepare detailed monthly reports on the financial status of fundraising projects, analyzing variances and forecasting future performance to inform strategic
  • Work with development staff and program staff to design, develop and follow-up grants proposals, donation requests and
  • Work with the finance team to ensure correct coding and allocation of income and expenses associated with forecasted and approved fundraising
  • Ensure optimal allocation of resources (human, financial, and material) across various projects, maintaining a balance between current needs and long-term

 Cross-Departmental Collaboration and Brand Alignment:

  • Work closely with the Communications/Marketing team to ensure brand alignment and effective campaign planning, enhancing the organization's public image and donor
  • Engage with the Admissions team to develop strategies for alumni engagement and leveraging relationships to boost fundraising
  • Act as a key connector between departments, facilitating collaboration and strategic alignment to achieve organizational goals and enhance operational
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Salaried over 25 hours
$57,076+/year depending on qualification

A note about compensation:  The compensation listed applies to individuals who would be working based out of the Missoula, MT office. Per our compensation philosophy, we benchmark and structure our pay and benefits to be aligned with the local communities where we work. We are committed to offer at-market base salaries based on where the employee lives and we aim at delivering a benefits package above the market including health insurance, retirement fund matching contributions, and generous leave policies, among others.
