Volunteer Coordinator (Administrative & Office Specialist III)

Mason Neck State Park is accepting applications for the Volunteer Coordinator position! This individual will be responsible for assisting with recruiting, onboarding, training, and scheduling volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator will also assist with planning and implementing various volunteer programs. This position will work actively with volunteer groups toward the common goal of increasing volunteerism within the park. The position will also be responsible for communicating with existing and new volunteers and accurately maintaining forms, work logs, and updating volunteer project lists.

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Possess a valid driver’s license and transportation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Requires standing, bending, and walking.
• Must be willing to work shift work, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Considerations:

• Experience working with volunteers and volunteer groups.
• Experience planning and conducting programs and events.
• Experience marketing, advertising, and promoting programs and special events.
• Ability to use multiple computer programs to develop, advertise, list, record, and communicate about volunteerism and volunteer programs.

Special Requirements:

Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1500 hours from May 1 to April 30. Employer participates in E-Verify.

A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
