Lead Middle School Teacher

The lead teacher must share our desire to advance the school’s values and mission and be able to incorporate those philosophies into curricular activities. The ideal applicant will be a creative, talented and dedicated teacher, a team player, and possess excellent classroom management and communication skills. Candidates should have a commitment to and knowledge of the development of the whole child. As a middle school teacher, it is essential for candidates to possess a respect for and understanding of the developmental stage of 12-14 year olds. They should have experience or interest in practicing Positive Discipline techniques and guiding students in peaceful conflict resolution. Experience, certification, and/or interest in Montessori and other experiential education methods, outdoor education, and multi-age classrooms is essential.

• Bachelor’s degree plus five years of teaching experience and at least three years of experience working with adolescents.
• Master’s degree plus two years of teaching experience and at least three years of experience working with adolescents.
