Summary
Some of our key topic areas include: forestry, wildlife, fire ecology, watershed, wildflowers and ethnobotany, Indian Education For All (in alignment with Montana’s 7 essential understandings for IEFA), cultural heritage and history, recreation on national forests, multiple use management, and more. Expect to serve as the coordinator for our winter SnowSchool program as well as other year-round programs for all ages and backgrounds.
Education (70%)
- Develop education programs on a variety of topics and using a variety of delivery methods.
- Use hands-on, active approaches to teaching STEM topics, lead interpretive hikes, interface with both children and adult learners.
Scheduling and Communication (20%)
- Assist in providing photos and stories for social media updates about our programs.
- Communicate with teachers, group leaders, and volunteers to schedule programs and ensure adequate coverage for scheduled programs.
- Education duties may include developing location-specific interpretive materials, online videos, assisting with brochure, sign, or other visual product development in collaboration with our Outreach Coordinator.
Volunteer Coordination (10%)
- Establish connections with Forest Service and partners to identify and coordinate volunteer projects.
- Provide volunteers with curriculum, activities, and guidelines when helping with education programs.

Compensation Information
- Starting Wage $18 per hour.
- Flexible work schedule, which can include remote work options.
- 11 paid holidays, vacation and sick leave policy.
