Daily Kayaking in Commencement Bay, Tacoma! Hands on science teaching! This internship is perfect for students or those looking for part-time work. You will be assisting in teaching on the water and in an informal classroom setting. This is a great experience for those looking to get into environmental education.

Summary

EcoKayak is a unique program that teaches students life sciences, emphasizing on biology, chemistry, ecology, geology and marine biology on the water and in our classroom on Commencement Bay. As an intern you will be kayaking twice a week and a teaching assistant twice a week.

The Foss Waterway Seaport works with THRIVE students from Hilltop Heritage Middle School and Metro Parks outdoor guides to form a 9 week hands on science experience. This position is for 13 hours a week.

Hours are: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday from 7:30am-10:30am, from September 6th-November 17th

This position is temporary, and will not be extended.
