Educator: Environmental, Farm to School, After School, Part-time

JOB SUMMARY

The Educator will work up to 20 hours per week as part of the Education Team, supporting the School Programs Manager and Youth Education Programs Manager to deliver environmental science, farm to school, after school, homeschool, school break camp, and scout programming in Decatur and Atlanta. The Educator will teach field trips at the Wylde Center's 5 Green Spaces and in school at City Schools of Decatur, Atlanta Public Schools, and a number of other partner schools in the area. Additional responsibilities include: planning, prepping, teaching lessons, and collecting data. This position is part-time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead in school programs in Atlanta and Decatur Schools. Programs include school garden lessons, environmental science lessons, food and nutrition lessons.
• Create lesson plans and activities for the programs.
• Prepare and organize materials for lessons.
• Lead or teach field trips at Wylde Center Green Spaces.
• Teach scout programs at Wylde Center Green Spaces.
• Lead After School programs at our partner residences and Edgewood Community Learning Garden.
• Additional hours possible teaching camps
