MobilizeGreen has three great opportunities Environmental Educator (40 weeks), Invasive Plant intern (40 weeks) and Maintenance Intern (12 weeks)) working on the John Heinz NWR in Philadelphia, PA. Refuge staff will provide ample training and development opportunities both internally and externally to support the selected candidate. Summary

MobilizeGreen has three great opportunities for current students and recent graduates - Environmental Educator (40 weeks), Invasive Plant intern (40 weeks) and Maintenance Intern (12 weeks))working on the John Heinz NWR in Philadelphia, PA.  Refuge staff will provide ample training and development opportunities both internally and externally to support the selected candidate. 

Environmental Education Intern- 40 weeks,  assist the Refuge with many activities that both connect the local community and provide the candidate with prime career experience.

Invasive Species Intern- 12 week, primary duties will include invasive species management and biological monitoring.

Facilities Maintenance Intern- 40 weeks, will work on a variety of facilities, maintenance, habitat restoration, and transportation projects with USFSW John Heinz team to improve road/trail access to and from the refuge, improve building function, and improve the visitor experience and public safety at John Heinz NWR at Tinicum.

Compensation Information

Environmental Education and Maintenance Interns

  • $650 per week living allowance (stipend)
  • $750-1000 per month housing stipend 
  • Health insurance available

  • Hands-on learning and job training experience
  • Relocation stipend 

Invasive Species Intern

  • $550 a week for 12 weeks
  • $500 housing stipend per month
  • $50 Commuter Stipend per month
  • Mentorship for career and professional development
  • Hands-on learning and job training experience
