Summary
JNPA invites an experienced leader to serve in a non-federal role as Director of Youth Education, guiding a bold five-year initiative to strengthen, expand, and align youth education at Gateway Arch National Park with evolving needs and best practices.
This is more than a job — it is an opportunity to leave a lasting mark on one of America’s most iconic landmarks of the National Park System. As the senior education leader, you will set the vision for Youth Education in the Parks (YEP), an ambitious initiative that will expand access to transformational learning experiences, deepen the park’s relationship with schools and teachers, and inspire the next generation of national park stewards.
We are seeking a visionary program builder, strategic thinker, and collaborative leader energized by turning big ideas into lasting impact. Our new Director will thrive in every setting—whether leading in the classroom, presenting to an audience, engaging in the field, or guiding discussions in the boardroom. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, resourceful leader who finds opportunity everywhere and drives purposeful innovation. Experience creating sustainable business plans and revenue models is essential.
Interested applicants must have earned a master’s degree and have completed 5 years in education program management, curriculum development, and/or professional development facilitation. If the bachelor’s is in Education, the master’s may be in Education (preferred), Museum Studies, History, Public History, Environmental Education, or a closely related field. If the bachelor’s is not in education but in a closely related field, the master’s must be in Education (MAE, MEd, MSEd).
