The Mono Lake Committee is a non-profit citizens’ group dedicated to protecting and restoring the Mono Basin ecosystem, educating the public about Mono Lake and the impacts on the environment of excessive water use, and promoting cooperative solutions that protect Mono Lake and meet real water needs without transferring environmental problems to other areas.

Summary

The Education Coordinator is responsible for organizing two major educational events and for leading high-quality outdoor and environmental education programs. The Committee’s education programs engage people with Mono Lake and its tributary streams, associated water issues, cultural and natural histories, and the Committee’s mission to ensure the long-term protection and restoration of these unique resources. 

Primary Responsibilities: 
1. Organize the Mono Basin Bird Chautauqua and deliver a successful event.
2. Organize the Mono Lake Committee Field Seminar program and lead Field Seminar
trips.
3. Lead Custom Trips as part of the Committee’s guided, paid, interpretive program. 
4. Work with Education Director to provide environmental education programs to school 
groups, members, individuals, media, and groups as needed.
