Summary
Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park is recruiting for Training Specialist (Education and Outreach Coordinator) to manage the park's education and outreach program and support science communication, youth programs, and interpretive efforts at Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller and Saint-Gaudens National Historical Parks. This position is responsible for planning, developing, evaluating, and presenting the park's education & outreach programs, curriculum, & teacher professional development and supports science communication and programming for the park's natural resource program. The Training Specialist serves as a liaison, co-creating & facilitating inter-divisional & inter-park programming and professional development with park partners and educators.
Major Duties include:
- Develop curriculum-based education programs and resources including lesson plans, videos and other materials
- Present in-person and virtual education programs to students at educational institutions to include elementary and high schools, colleges, and universities, as well as the visiting public
- Direct and coordinate the efforts of seasonal employees, interns, and volunteers in the development and implementation of education programs
- Coordinate the development of education resources including lesson plans, videos, and other curriculum-based materials
- Communicate natural resource information and research to staff, partners, and the public
- Co-coordinate the park's citizen science program with the natural resources program and ensures adequate quality control of field work and data collected
- Co-coordinate inter-divisional and inter-park outreach and special programs for the public
- Plan, organize, and present training workshops for teachers, school officials, environmental educators, and curriculum coordinators
- Co-develop teacher professional development with partners, educators, and an interdivisional and inter-park team of staff
- Prepare and review publications and literature related to all educational activities including information brochures, traveling exhibits, curriculum material, newsletters, and evaluative materials

Compensation Information

Salary: $57,118 - $74,250 annually
Hourly Rate: $27.37 - $35.58
