The Storm King School is an 8-12, co-educational, college preparatory boarding/day school of 185 students located in the spectacular Hudson Highlands of New York, overlooking the Hudson River. Storm King School is also adjacent to Storm King Mountain and Black Rock Forest, a 4000 acre preserve and forest field station. We have students from 25 countries and many states in the US. This is an ideal resource for our school and especially for a Environmental Science teacher.
Summary
Primary Job Responsibilities: Teach four sections (2 per semester), coach/advise activity two seasons, and live and work in the dormitory. This past year, the individual in this position taught two sections of Environmental Science, an 8th grade science class, and a section of Algebra. Some other duties include: supervise weekend and after school assignments and clubs when needed; attend parent/teacher meetings; attend faculty/staff meetings, dorm meetings and others as required; drive groups of students as needed for athletics, weekend or other activities.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science or a related field is required, MA preferred. Candidates with 2-5 years of experience are preferred, but we will consider first year teachers.

Compensation Information
Salary and Benefits:
$40K-$60K. Salary range will vary depending on experience. Housing and utilities are included. Meals are also included when school is in session. A competitive package of health insurance, retirement benefits, etc. are also included.
