Summary

This full-time seasonal position works as a uniformed interpretive naturalist at Historic Mill Creek, near Mackinaw City, at the tip of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Under guidance of the park naturalist, seasonal interpreters are responsible for providing nature-themed presentations daily for visitors of all ages and abilities. In May and June, seasonal naturalists also lead environmental education programs (including talks and guided nature hikes) for school groups. The Historic Mill Creek season runs from May 8 - August 31, 2025, with training provided in early May. 

Successful applicants will be outgoing, enthusiastic and have strong public speaking skills. Applicants working toward a degree in nature interpretation, biology, earth or environmental science; outdoor recreation; or education are preferred. Compensation Information

Salary starts at $13.15/hr. with an end-of-the-season bonus based on total hours worked. Low-cost employee housing is available.
