The mission of the Port Royal Sound Foundation (PRSF) is to preserve the Port Royal Sound for the environmental, cultural, and economic well-being of our area. PRSF is proud to be the leading authority and advocate for such a vital resource in South Carolina, providing and supporting education, research, and conservation initiatives to protect it.
The Naturalist will serve as an informed and enthusiastic advocate of PRSF, providing creative and educational programming about the Port Royal Sound for school field trips, program participants, and visitors to the Foundation’s Maritime Center Museum. Candidate will contribute to the positive image and reputation of PRSF in the community and work with a dedicated team to help fulfill the mission of the Foundation.

Summary
Port Royal Sound Foundation Naturalist will:
- Lead and implement educational programming for children, such as school field trips, nature hikes, summer camps, art programs, adult camps, kayak tours, and children’s story time.
- Train volunteers to assist and lead various aspects of the programs
- Help make PRSF's museum, the Maritime Center, an interesting and interactive place for guests to visit and volunteers to work
- Maintain the heath, appearance, and condition of the live animals and their enclosures
- Continuously learn about the Port Royal Sound and its many contributions to the ecology, history, culture, art, recreation and beauty of the area
- Cultivate relationships with volunteers, donors, and guests to further their personal connection with the Foundation and the Port Royal Sound area
