The Open Air Classroom Program Coordinator with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension is responsible for overseeing daily operations during the Open Air Classroom Program season (academic year), including training and supervising teaching staff (temporary professionals). The UMaine 4-H Learning Centers at Tanglewood and Blueberry Cove’s camp adventures and school programs are based on “Earth Connections,” nature discovery that helps youth become creative stewards of an interconnected world. The mission of Tanglewood and Blueberry Cove is to teach people from Maine and beyond to be effective and caring citizens of the earth through affordable environmental education and nature-based experiences.

Summary

The position also supports summer camp as part of the year-round program leadership team. We strive to create a spirit of community among the staff in the working and living environment at Tanglewood and Blueberry Cove.

Compensation Information

The typical hiring range for this soft-money funded position is $38,701 to $44,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.x
