Nature Center Technician

A Nature Center Technician position will be filled from May through August 2023. The position is 32-hours per week, Tuesday-Sunday 8:00 AM-4:30 PM (scheduling is flexible). Salary: $13.13-$14.14/hour

 Duties include:
* Assisting the staff with daily duties including leading educational field trips, and staffing major public events.
* Cuts grass, trims trees, shrubs, and performs other horticultural and gardening tasks.
* Performs invasive species control including identification and removal of undesired species.
* Maintains and cleans buildings and restrooms.
* Maintains grounds and trail system.
* May operate heavy or light equipment and assist with their maintenance and repair if qualifications allow.
* Constructs and maintains signs, boardwalks, and small bridges
* Some weekend work required
* Performs other duties as assigned

Education/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

* Must be at least 18 years old
* Must have a valid driver's license
* Must have the ability to lift items of 50lbs or more several times per shift
* A background in Natural Resources is helpful but not required
