American Conservation Experience, a nonprofit Conservation Corps, in partnership with the National Park Service, is seeking ONE Interpretation Member to assist Andersonville National Historic Park staff with museum operations, help create and conduct new, innovative educational programs and youth-focused outreach materials, and digital media to broaden park reach through social media platforms.

Summary

Position Overview: This position will assist park staff with museum operations, help create and conduct summer programs, and digital media to broaden park reach through social media platforms.

Duties may include:

  • Assisting park staff with opening, operating, and closing the National Prisoner of War museum;
  • Creating digital interpretive videos for park website and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter);
  • Creating a new guided tour of the museum for park staff to implement into daily park rotation;
  • Creating a temporary museum exhibit;
  • Assisting with the reorganization of the museum library;
  • Other duties as assigned

This individual placement is meant to facilitate professional development and promotes exposure to land management agencies and networking with professionals. This could include gaining experience in different conservation fields and shadowing different work groups.

Compensation Information

Position Benefits

Living Allowance: The ACE Member is expected to contribute ~40 hours/week and will receive a living allowance of $600/week to offset the costs of food and incidental expenses, dispersed bi-weekly. They will also receive a $605 travel allowance to aid in the costs of relocation and commuting to the duty station.

Housing: Housing is the responsibility of the member and not provided by ACE or NPS.

Public Land Corps Hiring Authority: Members serving under this agreement may be eligible for a hiring authority upon completion of their term of service.

Relocation Allowance: ACE members will have access to up to $605 to be used for eligible relocation expenses. Further details regarding distribution of these funds will be provided during the interview process.

Provided Training/Orientation: ACE members will receive position specific training and an orientation outlining ACE policies and procedures, clear guidance on prohibited activities, and networks for support.
