Summary

Position: First-ever Director of Philanthropy to build and lead a comprehensive fundraising program from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a multi-year fundraising strategy with a goal of reaching $3M in annual revenue within 5 years
  • Manage all fundraising aspects: major gifts, annual giving, grants, corporate sponsorships, and donor stewardship
  • Oversee membership programs and donor engagement
  • Serve as Board liaison on fundraising matters and represent the organization publicly
  • Build donor management systems and infrastructure

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred)
  • 7-10 years of progressive fundraising leadership experience
  • Proven track record with 5- and 6-figure gifts
  • Experience with museums, public gardens, or similar nonprofits preferred
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and strong communication skills
  • Passion for environmental conservation

First-Year Priorities:

  • Create a 5-year philanthropy roadmap
  • Establish fundraising infrastructure and systems
  • Build donor networks and relationships
  • Launch core donor engagement programs
