OSU Extension is looking for collaborators on a five-year USDA NIFA-funded YEA grant to develop a comprehensive youth climate change curriculum with an emphasis on climate-smart agriculture and forestry. Our goal is to ensure inclusion and access for youth from tribal communities and U.S. insular areas (Pacific Islands). We are currently seeking applications for Writing Team Leaders.

Summary

Oregon State University Extension Service is seeking applications for Writing Team Leaders on a
five-year USDA NIFA-funded Youth Innovators Empowering Agriculture Across America (YEA)
grant to develop a comprehensive youth climate change curriculum with an emphasis on
climate-smart agriculture and forestry. This work will involve coordinating climate curriculum
development among writers. This is an annual contracted position. More information can be found at the YEA Climate Change Curriculum Project website.
 

Compensation Information

Writing team leaders will be paid a flat fee of $6,000, plus all travel costs associated with the
project. One-year contract with potential to renew. All writing team leaders will be required to
provide proof of insurance at levels that comply with OSU requirements (see below). We have
accounted for the cost of insurance coverage in the flat fee of $6,000. Insurance costs will not
be reimbursed separately by OSU.


1) General Liability insurance with minimum limits of $2,000,000 per occurrence and
$4,000,000 aggregate, which can be met through a combination of primary and excess
insurance policies 2) Automobile Liability insurance (when applicable) with “symbol 1”
coverage (owned, hired and non-owned vehicles) with minimum limits of $1,000,000
combined single limit per occurrence or accident. 3) Professional Liability insurance.
Coverage limits shall be a minimum of $2,000,000 per claim and $2,000,000 aggregate.
