Portland Parks & Recreation is hiring an exciting Stewardship Coordinator position to lead habitat stewardship and environmental education-focused programming in Forest Park and other west side PP&R Natural Areas. Summary

Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) seeks to fill a Botanic Specialist I – Natural Resources Youth & Community position that supports Portland Parks & Recreation’s City Nature West natural areas unit and its 5,000+ acre portfolio. This stewardship coordinator position will develop and implement culturally inclusive environmental education and community stewardship programming in PP&R natural areas and parks. The geographic focus is PP&R natural areas on the west side of the Willamette River, including Forest Park, Marquam Nature Park, and 34 other Natural Areas. This position will partner and collaborate closely with a wide variety of community-led/nonprofit organizations, school groups, Friends groups, culturally specific groups, religious organizations, businesses, the public, etc. This position will provide high-quality volunteer experiences. It will also advance the work of the PP&R City Nature West natural areas team by improving access to nature and overall ecological conditions of westside Natural Areas. The position will apply an equity lens to all aspects of work and partnership building. Candidate must be able to clearly and engagingly present information to small and large groups. Must have demonstrated experience in community relationship building, working with diverse groups of people, leading and mentoring youth, and a background in habitat restoration and/or natural resources.

Compensation Information

Full salary range for this position is currently $35.22 - $44.97 Hourly
