Summary
The Apalachicola NERR is part of a national network of 30 State-Federal partnership coastal reserves that address state and regional coastal management needs through research, education, and stewardship. The NERR System is administered by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in collaboration with State partners and uses its network of living laboratories to help understand and find solutions to crucial issues facing America’s coastal communities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in developing and conducting field classes that engage and educate various audiences.
• Design and execute outreach campaigns to raise awareness about ecosystem and increase stewardship.
• Manage and create content for social media to extend outreach efforts.
• Produce and host a monthly webinar series on topics related to coastal stewardship and resilience.
• Collaborate with local communities providing them with the skills, tools, and resources for promoting healthy ecosystems, resilient communities, and vibrant economies.
Qualifications:
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proficiency in using social media for outreach and engagement.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for environmental stewardship and coastal resource management.

Compensation Information
Anticipated starting salary mid $30,000’s, commensurate with education and experience.
This position is associated with the Florida State University Marine Lab. FSU offers a robust Total Rewards package, including tuition credit.
