California State Parks is hiring up to two Forestry Aides (seasonal) stationed in Grass Valley, California. Duties are invasive plant removal and botanical surveys. Come join State Parks and work in the beautiful Sierra foothills and around Lake Tahoe.

The Forestry Aide positions will work for a maximum of 1500 hours per calendar year or 189 days. The Forestry Aide will assist in invasive plant control, native plant restoration, botanical and natural resource surveys and project activities at Empire Mine State Historic Park, Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park, and the South Yuba River State Park. Occasional work throughout the Sierra District at other parks may be required, including Lake Tahoe region. Additional duties include assisting visitor services, GIS mapping, trail and resource management inspections, and office work including creating reports, maps, and entering information into databases. Experience in botany, landscape maintenance, weed-abatement, forestry, and knowledge of California native plants and exotic plants is desired.

Compensation Information

$19.42 / hour
