The Tualatin Hills Nature Center seeks team-oriented, safety-conscious, nature enthusiasts to create quality spring nature programs and summer nature camp experiences for kids in the Beaverton area. This is a fantastic employment opportunity for individuals looking to improve their leadership skills in an informal environmental education setting.

Summary

Environmental Education Instructors are responsible for planning, preparing, instructing, and/or leading general and/or specialized activities for nature program participants. Activities include but are not limited to leading group games, nature activities, arts & crafts, and guided group hikes.
Pay Rate Range: $18.22 - $19.93 hourly, depending on experience
 
Environmental Education Director is responsible for the development and implementation of assigned nature programs. Incumbents in this job classification work independently, within established guidelines, to develop, coordinate, supervise, and instruct the day-to-day activities of assigned nature program areas and provide lead direction to assigned part-time staff and volunteers.
Pay Rate Range: $20.51 - $23.08 hourly, depending on experience

Scheduling:
We are hiring for spring and summer positions. Positions will start either mid-March or mid-June. Spring hours are variable and based on programs. Summer hours are typically Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, and will be scheduled between the weeks of June 10 through August 30.
 
We are hiring for both year-round and seasonal positions. Part-time employees are scheduled variable hours and may work less than 1,560 hours per year. Seasonal employees may be scheduled 40 hours per week for a maximum duration of 6 months. Staff may be given the opportunity to work multiple positions within the same classification.

New Benefit – Paid Time Off
Effective March 1, 2024, a new paid leave for part-time Paid Time Off (PTO), will accrue at a rate of one (1) hour earned for every 30 hours worked. This is in addition to Sick leave and may be scheduled by employees for any reason!
