Summary
Seasonal Part-Time Environmental Educator
In this role you will:
- Prepare for and teach environmental education classes to groups and individuals of all ages.
- Learn how to properly handle education animals in order to present wildlife during programming.
- Guide and mentor interns assigned to your summer camp group.
- Maintain office/building organization while using site, buildings, and materials.
- any other activities necessary to advance the mission of Wildlands Conservancy.
Seasonal Part-Time Environmental Educator Assistant
In this role you will:
- Assist Environmental Educator(s) with preparing for environmental education classes to groups and individuals of all ages, including but not limited to classroom preparation, collecting materials and supplies, cleaning up after programs, and organization.
- Assist with summer camp parking, attendance, crafts, hikes, and other programs
- Assist with maintaining office/building organization while using site, buildings and materials.
- Assist with other activities necessary to advance the mission of Wildlands Conservancy.
Seasonal Part-time Outdoor Recreation Guide 2
In this role you will:
- Act as Trip Leader when assigned. Trip Leaders communicate directly with the Director of Community Programs on trip logistics and lead staff and volunteers for the duration of a trip.
- Perform advanced maintenance on equipment, such as tiering a wheel or repairing a canoe.
- Lead environmental education programs, including water quality, watersheds, flora and fauna identification, and river/canal history.
- Be consistently relied on to manage a trip, communicate program needs and concerns with Director of Community Programs, and perform advanced maintenance skills (or know how to acquire them).
- Be the on-site point person for groups and schools during a trip.
- Work a minimum of 4 trips/month.
Seasonal Part-time Outdoor Recreation Guide 1
In this role you will:
- Provide safety guidance and professional leadership on Bike & Boat trips.
- Assist with education components and lessons.
- Support the Director of Community Programs in areas of equipment use, and perform routine and as-needed maintenance to bikes, canoes, trailers, PFD’s, paddles, etc.
- Conduct safety presentations and demonstrations, with humor and confidence.
- Assist with trip logistics.
