This dynamic, experienced educator will be responsible for managing, improving, and growing the Michigan Green Schools program at the statewide level through partnerships with schools and community organizations. In addition, this role will be responsible for developing standards-aligned educational activities for PreK-12 classrooms in partnership with Michigan's Environmental Education Coordinator.

Summary

This position will serve as the recognized resource for the administration of the Michigan Green Schools program.  This position’s primary responsibility is to facilitate and grow the Michigan Green Schools program through partnerships with schools and community organizations across the state. In addition to facilitating the Michigan Green Schools program, this role is responsible for developing standards-aligned educational activities for PreK-12 classrooms in partnership with EGLE program divisions, assisting with curriculum development and academic content standard alignment of existing programs, and representing EGLE at school and community events. This position also completes other duties as assigned to implement the goals and evaluate the outcomes of EGLE’s Environmental Education Plan and works in partnership with the Environmental Education Coordinator.  This position supports EGLE’s Environmental Education program by providing information and assistance to students, teachers, and educational institutions.

Compensation Information

Pay range is $27.67 - $40.44 Hourly. 

Benefits include full health, medical, dental, vision and life insurance as well as 4% automatic and up to 5% match toward retirement accounts, which fully vest after 4 years.  In addition, State of Michigan employees earn 15-35 personal days, 13 paid sick d, up to 14 paid holidays, and 1 day of school/community leave per year.
