Summary

Job Summary
Semester Mentors assist our full-time faculty in delivering all aspects of the Semester program. This includes supporting various classes, activities and community events, serving as a co-advisor to 6-8 students, performing residential duty, and generally participating in all aspects of Semester life. Semester Mentors are fully engaged in a 100-day semester with preparation and debrief time at the beginning and end of the term.

All in one day, the mentor's work will often include: participating in morning exercise with students, assisting with teaching a class, doing chores with students, supporting an off-campus SCUBA experience or research project, supporting a project in the local community, and having one-on-one conversations with individual students. By design, student learning extends far beyond our physical classrooms and students do not go home at the end of the “school day”. That means our mentors’ days can be long, fast-paced, and dynamic, but also filled with the rewards of living and working in an intentional community and of having a lasting impact on our young learners.
