Summary
Contract Length: 10 weeks, June 3 - August 11, 2024
During Rockhaven UnCamp, nature play and experiential environmental education are center stage. Nine sessions of camp are offered from June - August, including day camp and overnight opportunities for kids ages 5-15. All camps include STEM activities, hiking, group games, rock climbing, nature journaling, community fellowship, music, s'mores, and plenty of Rockhaven's signature nature play time. UnCamp is designed to allow campers and counselors the freedom to breathe and decompress, disconnect and discover their sense of curiosity.
Camp Counselor Responsibilities:
- Establish connections with campers by taking the time to understand each individual. Learn about their unique interests, needs, and areas for personal growth.
- Foster an inclusive camp environment for ALL campers.
- Oversee camper health and safety. Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure the well-being of campers.
- Promote active engagement of campers participation in all aspects of camp.
- Assist campers in creating their daily and weekly schedules around the UnCamp model.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors on decision-making and problem-solving. Contribute positively to a cohesive team environment.
- Proactively participate in resolving conflicts among campers.
- Address safety concerns promptly and report immediately to the Camp Director.
