Zoo Knoxville's Education Department is seeking a dynamic educator to present interactive standards-based science and conservation programs to schools both on zoo grounds and at schools along with weekly off-site homeschool programs. During summer this position will primarily present off-site programs for community groups. The position will support the Education Department’s vision to create conservation leaders and to inspire and empower community action for wildlife and wild places.

Summary

College degree or equivalent science background preferred. Classroom or informal teaching experience is preferred. Must be comfortable handling small mammals, birds, reptiles and invertebrates. 

Hours may vary depending on program needs and season, but typically will be 24 hours per week on weekdays. Homeschool off-site programs occur on Fridays during the spring and fall semesters.
