We are searching for people who are compassionate, responsible, and thoughtful instructors who encourage kids to be their best selves, no matter who that is. Specifics of the job include:
- Manage a group of 10-15 students
- Facilitate hikes, tide pooling, kayaking trips, and instructional lessons
- Adapt content and teaching strategies to best meet the diverse needs of our participants
- Lead camp activities such as target sports, campfire, and games
- Help care for onsite birds of prey, reptiles, and amphibians when needed
- Communicate with teachers and coworkers to provide flexible programming
Naturalists receive a starting wage of $17-19/hour with the possibility of overtime. Onsite room and board is available for $150/month. Camp Ocean Pines is located in Cambria, California, a small town along the Central Coast nestled between Big Sur and Santa Barbara.
