Love the outdoors? Want to spend the summer working with kids and teaching them wilderness skills and the beauty of spending time in nature? This job is for you!

Summary

Chippewa Ranch Camp is an all girls residential summer camp located in Eagle River, WI. We are a traditional overnight camp that has been around for 75 years. We are located on a big lake and offer a wide variety of activities including horseback riding, waterskiing, a 50 foot climbing wall with a zipline, a high ropes course, archery, landsports and the arts. We are a camp that is focused on building friendships, independence and kindness. Through our wide offering of activities and incredible staff, we are able to help our campers grow into strong, confident and compassionate young women.

We are looking to hire two wilderness trip leaders. At Chippewa, we run a trip program in which a trip leader (with 3 other counselors) will take between 12 and 20 campers on a one- or two-night camping trip. These trips range from beaches to hiking to canoeing to sea-kayaking to rock climbing. The trip leader will be accountable for helping to plan the trip, guide the campers and counselors once they are on the trip, and help to ensure a fun and safe experience. There will be 2 trip leaders who will work together to plan trips. Trip leaders should have experience camping themselves, and having led trips in the past is great prior experience. Wilderness First Responder and Lifeguard certifications will be provided if you do not already have them.

Compensation includes a competitive salary along with free room, board, travel expenses and certification costs.

Dates for this position would be from May 24 - August 9, 2024 (there is some flexibility with start and end date, especially if applicant already has their WFR)

Compensation Information

Compensation is $2,500-$3,500 (depending on experience) plus room, board, travel expenses and certification costs.
