As the Operations Manager, you will assist in the coordination and administration of youth programs at our campus Prince William Forest Park, in northern Virginia. You will work closely with our school district partners and National Park Service personnel to ensure smooth program logistics and an excellent customer experience. What You Will Do:

As the Operations Manager, you will assist in the coordination and administration of youth programs at our campus Prince William Forest Park, in northern Virginia. You will work closely with our school district partners and National Park Service personnel to ensure smooth program logistics and an excellent customer experience. As the newest NatureBridge campus, we are experiencing growth and we are seeking individuals with enthusiasm for our mission, a love of science and parks, and solution-oriented thinking skills.

 

This position takes place at our campus in Prince William Forest Park, in Manassas, VA, and cannot be performed remotely.

Your primary job will be

Leadership: 

  • You will serve on the NatureBridge Operations Team and collaborate with campus leadership on planning and implementing campus initiatives. 
  • You will ensure smooth program delivery and identify opportunities to optimize our logistics systems and business processes. 
  • This role also helps develop annual budgets and supports the Campus Director in addressing campus-specific operational opportunities or challenges.

Staff Management: 

  • You will supervise the Program assistant and Site Manager Team. 
  • You will also develop staff working agreements and partner with the Risk Management team to implement effective training, model excellent risk management practices, and maintain a safe environment for our students and staff. 

Administration: 

  • You will be responsible for ensuring a high level of customer service by soliciting and acting on customer feedback and program evaluations. 
  • You will oversee campus-wide logistics, including contracts with vendors, maintenance, and compliance with federal safety and health standards. 
  • You will also develop the on-call schedule and respond as needed to the campus emergency response system. 

Facilities and Infrastructure: 

  • This role is also responsible for managing campus facility needs, including working with National Park Service and NatureBridge staff to coordinate maintenance, cleaning, and repair of our campus facilities. 
  • You will also manage our campus fleet of vehicles and lead staff housing logistics, including housing assignments, unit maintenance, and upkeep. 

 

Compensation:

  • $59,000-64,000 annual salary

Who You Are:

An ideal candidate for the Operations Manager position prioritizes relationship-building and professional integrity, while demonstrating commitment to NatureBridge’s mission and values, including equity and inclusion in the workplace. An ideal candidate can devise and implement effective systems and processes, solve unique problems, and is skilled at thinking creatively and critically. They can also communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple stakeholders while balancing competing priorities and needs.

 

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Four or more years of experience in either: outdoor education and/or camps, nonprofit management, school or business administration, project management, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Proven project management skills; able to keep track of complex logistical details with excellent planning and execution ability.
  • Strong technical skills in technology platforms, proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Salesforce, or other database management systems (CRM).
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal and financial documents. Ability to read and interpret technical writing, such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in the workplace.   • Written and oral Spanish language proficiency is highly desirable.
  • Professional experience and familiarity with K12 Public Schools and/or the National Park Service is a plus.
