The Community Education Coordinator will primarily be responsible for managing programs that engage visitors, program participants and local community members with conservation-focused programming, leading a small team of interpreters to change knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of zoo guests through outcomes-based programming.

Summary

This position will include building partnerships, program development, implementation and evaluation. Evaluation will be a significant focus for programming, part-time/seasonal/volunteer educator development, and program animal presentation. In addition to leading the interpretation team, this position will coordinate the ZooCrew teen conservation program, twilight tours and night safaris. The normal work schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday. The position will stay open until filled.

Compensation Information

Starting pay rate: $15.45 hourly. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, voluntary short-term and long-term disability, retirement plan, personal days, paid leave, sick time as well as discounts to local attractions.
