In this dynamic role, manage the education, outreach, and planning of the Department’s Habitat at Home program that focuses on turning schoolyards, businesses, outdoor community spaces, apartments, and homes into habitat for fish and wildlife and connects Washingtonians with their local flora and fauna.
We are seeking a candidate with an interest in Washington’s ecoregions, fish and wildlife resources, interacting with the public, and connecting people with wildlife near their home and in their communities.

Summary
Our Habitat at Home Coordinator will,
- Manage database of Habitat at Home program applicants; respond to applications and send applicants Habitat at Home kits in a timely manner.
- Maintain and refine Habitat at Home kits.
- Plan and implement creative ways to create continued engagement with Habitat at Home participants beyond certification.
- Plan and identify strategic areas to provide education to increase understanding of local wildlife species encountered in human developed areas.
- Create and develop learning packages for staff to use in public engagement/educational opportunities and projects within their area by providing best practices, coaching, training, resources, and/or event support.
- Work with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion staff to identify barriers and make recommendations on how to remove barriers for underserved communities to participate in the Habitat at Home program.
- Build and maintain partnerships and serve as liaison between Department and external organizations such as conservation districts, native plant societies, and master gardener programs.
Compensation Information
$4,824.00 - $6,510.00 Monthly depending on experience
