The Director of Partnerships and Programs develops and implements public engagement and programming to emphasize the mission of Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership (LNRP) while serving as the liaison for volunteer-led partner groups within the organization’s administrative umbrella.

​​​​​​​The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who is able to provide support and leadership alongside a variety of stakeholders. The Director of Partnerships and Programs will develop creative strategies to engage public audiences while inspiring appreciation for natural resources and growing the organization’s conservation impact throughout Wisconsin’s Lakeshore region.

Summary

Position Responsibilities 

Programming (50%) 

  • Serve as the direct liaison to Partner Groups for all program planning, public promotion, and execution of governance oversight
  • Lead the coordination of outreach, education, and engagement activities;
  • Develop strategic capacity‐building related to public engagement and volunteer networking efforts with existing Partner Groups, informal community partners, and other prospective stakeholders;
  • Lead educational programming and public events;
  • Assist with organizational Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ/JEDI) initiatives 

 

Operations & Administration (30%) 

  • Serve as a direct liaison to LNRP Partner Groups related to administrative support and nonprofit best practices including strategic planning, fiscal management, and public programming support
  • Manage programmatic grant reporting and budget reconciliations related to identifying Partner Group funding opportunities as well as previously secured support;
  • Provide insights and support to LNRP leadership, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors related to the development of the Fiscal Year Operating Budget 
  • Participate in team meetings and other Partner Group or stakeholder meetings and committees, as requested.

 

Marketing & Fundraising (20%) 

  • Collaborate closely with the entire staff team and Partner Groups to advance organizational marketing and communications including messaging via Social Media, e-Newsletters, and website(s);
  • Support the organization and Partner Groups with identifying and securing funding aligned with mission outcomes
  • Identify opportunities for diversified public engagement through marketing and nonprofit communications best practices
  • Assist with management of the donor and volunteer database;
  • Assist with event fundraising and sponsorship efforts;

 

Position Location and Schedule Flexibility: All LNRP employees work remotely from a home office setting of their choice and design. Occasional in-person team and stakeholder meetings will be scheduled at locations throughout the service area. Employees are entrusted with the flexibility to schedule their work days as they deem appropriate and necessary but are generally expected to be available between the weekday hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Employees are responsible for their own transportation when in-person meetings are held (related transportation expenses are reimbursable).

 

Qualifications & Required Experience: A college degree in a relevant field is preferred. Strong communication and facilitation skills are essential. Experience in environmental education, community development, volunteer management, and program/event planning are also a plus. Additional expertise would include working with diverse groups, familiarity with nonprofit best practices, and knowledge of water resource issues.

Reporting Structure: The Director of Partnerships & Programs will report directly to the Executive Director and will work closely with the Director of Projects and other support staff and organizational committees to effectively deliver LNRP’s mission while serving as the direct liaison to LNRP Partner Groups within the parent organization’s umbrella. All LNRP positions are Employees At Will.

Compensation Information

Salary and Benefits: Position will be salaried at 32 hours per week (80% Full-time equivalency). The salary range for this position will be $40,000 to $45,000 commensurate with experience. A monthly stipend of $35 is offered as an offset for home office expenses. No formal employment benefits are currently available to LNRP employees. Required tax deductions will be subtracted from the gross pay rate. Other personal expenses are reimbursed upon submission of expense reports on a monthly basis. Travel is to be reimbursed at the current mileage rate used by the Federal IRS.
