Summary
The Administrator will serve part-time, 15 hours per week on average, to further the reach and
capacity of NHEE. This is a grant funded position with the initial posting being for a 1-year term
with a target start date of November 1, 2023. The Administrator will work predominantly from
home with some occasional travel required.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
The Administrator, supervised by the Board of Directors, will focus and expand on:
● Collaborating with the Board of Directors on the organizational strategic plan priorities.
● Grant project management with support from the Grant Committee.
● Coordinating board recruitment and development with support from the Board Member
Chair.
● Coordinating donor cultivation and grant management, grant writing, and other
fundraising/development needs.
● Membership cultivation and management of the membership database with support from
the Membership Chair.
● Promoting and coordinating NHEE-sponsored professional development and outreach
offerings, including the annual conference & meeting, with support from the Conference
Committee.
● Communicating with the public through social media, website, and press releases.
● Acting as liaison with community, state, national and international organizations while
representing NHEE interests.
● Nurturing support for and recognition of the impact of environmental education in the
state.
● Providing monthly activity reports to the Board of Directors Executive/Finance
Committee.
Required Skills & Qualifications
● At least 3 years of experience related to environmental education and an understanding
of the field.
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in
the field.
● Ability to plan collaboratively and execute independently.
● Demonstrated commitment to building positive relationships with and equitable access
across diverse identities, backgrounds, and social constructs, including those associated
with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socioeconomic status, age, gender, disability,
sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity to work toward justice, equity,
diversity, and inclusion.
● Strong organizational and communication skills to initiate, form, and effectively maintain
relationships.
● Demonstrated success in team building and conflict resolution.
● Experience with effective collaborative partnerships made up of diverse organizations
and individuals (e.g., rural/urban, low-income/high-income, etc.).
● Skilled at creating and managing ongoing program, departmental, and/or organizational
budgets.
● Proficiency with Google Workspace and Dropbox necessary.
● Must reside in New Hampshire or a Maine or Massachusetts or Vermont border
community.
● Must have the ability to work from home (or another location that promotes focused work
with reasonable access to telephone and high-speed internet service) and have reliable
transportation for travel to meetings, conferences, etc.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
● Experience in fund development, demonstrated ability to seek and secure financial
support including grants, donor development, and strategic partnerships.
● Experience in nonprofit management, board relations, public relations, business, or
marketing.
● Experience with QuickBooks is helpful for this position.

Compensation Information
The Administrator’s starting contract salary is $32,500 annually for 15 hours per week on average, invoiced to NHEE’s Treasurer monthly. This is a contract position, subject to all applicable federal, state, and self-employment taxes that will need to be paid by the candidate at the end of the tax year. Variations in the 15 hours per week can be made with the NHEE board president to accommodate vacations or sickness. Registration and travel costs for NHEE conference, board meetings and professional development events are provided but subject to budgetary restrictions. Work-related travel can be reimbursed at the federal rate of $0.655/mile traveled. Office equipment and materials will be provided as needed for the duration of the contract.
