Join Puget Soundkeeper Alliance as a Washington Service Corps member in our Outreach & Engagement Coordinator role! As a founding member of the Waterkeeper Alliance, PSK's mission is to enhance and restore the waters of Puget Sound for all. This position will work within our Clean Water Program to engage with members of the public, volunteers, coalition members, youth, and many more and issues of clean water.

Summary

The Outreach & Engagement role is one of two AmeriCorps positions at Soundkeeper. This position will engage with the public in a number of ways including: outreach/educational booths and festivals, volunteer stewardship events such as beach cleanups and kayak cleanups, educational events such as workshops and presentations to community groups, and a strong focus on Soundkeeper's Lost Urban Creeks Project which connects youth in South King County to green jobs skills in water quality monitoring and beyond.

This position has a projected start date of October 2 OR October 16th, and the term runs for 10.5 months for a total of 1700 hours of service.

Compensation Information

Monthly stipend of $2143 per month. Applicants at or below 200% of the federal poverty line are eligible for a stipend increase. 

Upon successful completion of the 1700 hour term, service members will receive and education award of $6895 to put towards educational expenses or student loan repayment.

Soundkeeper offers mileage reimbursement for use of a personal vehicle to travel to events. Work is completed in a mix of in-person events and remote work at home.
