Summary
Main duties:
Participate in a Library of Things fellowship organized by our partner, Shareable. You will work on this project at least 4 hours a week. Fellows are expected to attend virtual monthly office hours and workshops. In the remaining time, fellows will host team meetings, launch fundraisers and conceptualize their project with the support of local organizations. It is a yearlong fellowship from September 2023 to October 2024.
Other alternative economy projects, outside of the Library of Things fellowship, include:
1. Helping to build a solidarity economy training specific to an environmental audience.
2. Working with our GIS department to create a national map that shows various alternative economy assets such as co-ops, land trusts, mutual aid, etc.
3. Researching policy options related to alternative economies.
This position will be remote and is designed for organizers that represent BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and/or low-income communities. We are looking for potential fellows to join us who are in the continental U.S., over 18, serve or are a part of a historically silenced community and share our commitment to social change through an alternative economy.
