If you have a passion for food systems and hands-on farm-to-school education, explore Green Mountain Farm-to-School as an AmeriCorps Farm-to-School Coordinator (FTS). FTS Coordinators lead hands-on educational activities such as taste tests, classroom lessons, farm field trips, school garden lessons, and nutrition education in the local schools. The position is a year-long, starting August 21, 2023, to August 2, 2024.

Summary

Who we are: Green Mountain Farm-to-School (GMFTS) is a nonprofit organization promoting the health and well-being of Vermont's children, farms, and communities by providing programs to connect schools and farms through food and education. GMFTS serves the school communities in the Northeast Kingdom (NEK) of Vermont with school gardens, educational programming, and fresh local farm foods.

Compensation Information

Available to start August 21, 2023 and commit to serve until August 2, 2024 for a 1,700 hour term of Service with AmeriCorps/GMFTS.  Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a Cost of Living Stipend of $22,100.00 for the year, Healthcare, set rate Mileage Reimbursement, and an Educational Award of $7395.00 at the end of service. GMFTS offers subsidized housing, an Automobile Equity Scholarship of $600.00 and many training opportunities.
