educators as necessary. They will join a friendly, dynamic staff that is dedicated to carrying out Hartley
Nature Center’s mission of inspiring lifelong connections with nature through education, play and
exploration. This position is listed at 25 hours a week but this role will be offered additional, optional hours to teach field trips, camps, birthday parties and special events at the same pay rate. These opportunities are
especially common in the fall and spring and less so in the winter months.
Summary
Status: Part Time, 25 hours/week
Start date: September 8th, 2023
End date: June 6th, 2024
Pay: $16.50 / hour
Monday-Friday approximately 1:30pm - 6:00pm
Duties:
• Develop appropriate, child-centered programming for After School Nature Club
• Teach and attend training for ASNC programming for the duration of the school year
• Attend weekly staff meetings and engage with professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR,
- Thorough experience teaching environmental education or outdoor recreation and writing lesson plans
- Administrative and customer service experience
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to relate with people of all ages and abilities in a positive manner
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Genuine interest in working with children in the outdoors
- Degree in environmental studies, education, sciences, or related field or equivalent experience
- Ability to work and teach outdoors in all weather conditions
Compensation Information
