Summary
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT MANAGER
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Nature Center Engagement
- Develop and implement strategies to engage the community in existing and new programs and visitation to the nature center.
- With the Education team and volunteer committee, maintain, update and create exhibits in the current nature center. Lead team with ED, to review and understand the future nature center exhibits master plan to determine strategy for implementation.
- Schedule, team and lead nature center staff to ensure excellent visitors’ experience
- Cultivate community partners with high level of communication to facilitate collaborative community programs and events to broaden nature center reach
- Oversee maintenance of the nature center including oversight of animal care, organization and cleanliness
Marketing
- Team with Creative Marketing Associate to create the big picture marketing plan and roles and responsibilities through Wild Bear’s branding guidelines
- Maintain cadence of social media and maintain mission aligned, brand focused, hyper local social media presence on Instagram, Facebook, linkedin, etc.
- Seek and implement all opportunities to market Wild Bear community engagement
Community Volunteers
- Team with Executive Assistant to develop clear descriptions of volunteer opportunities at Wild Bear.
- With EA, generate volunteer interest, cultivation and retention of volunteers
Events
- Monitor yearly calendar of events to determine volunteer and staff support and to determine capacity for additional events and programs
- utilize the rubric to determine the audience and goal of the event and materials needed to achieve the goal of the event
- Plan and implement special events in the nature center and market these events for excellent attendance

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in community engagement in a nature center or museum
- Experience in supervising other staff members/volunteers
- Strong skills in social media, graphic design, media development
- Strong computer skills such as Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, etc.
- Clean FBI background check

Compensation Information
COMPENSATION
$45,000 annual salary
Full time, year-round, In person position, including some weekends located in Nederland, CO
Benefits to activate after 90 days of employment
Paid Time Off: accrued monthly at 80 hours/year
Personal time: 80 hours/year
11 paid holidays per year
Health stipend: $150/month, option to join Kaiser plan
