Have fun as a valuable member of the staff at Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center, a program of the Nelda C. and H. J. Lutcher Stark Foundation. Shangri La is a dynamic organization with a creative and dedicated education staff. Shangri La Gardens Education Intern will gain diverse experience in outdoor, informal education and build connections in the community.
Summary
Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center is looking for an Environmental Educator - Intern. The Environmental Education Intern will provide instruction to visiting school groups; assist with project management; assist with event planning and implementation
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with and support summer camp activities
- Teach field trips for local school students, grades pre-K through 8
- Provide guided interpretation during Outpost Tours (boat tours) for the general public and group tours
- Develop and teach public programs
- Provide project management (planning and implementation) on assigned projects
- Assist with event planning and implementation on assigned events
- Learn local flora and fauna
- Other duties as assigned

Compensation Information
Benefits:
Paid group medical plan coverage for the duration of the internship
Reimbursement for local travel
Job type: Full-time temporary, duration 1 year
Salary Detail: $17.00/per hour
