Summary
Whether you're looking for a paid internship or a really cool/fun Summer Job, this is your chance to join an amazing team of other young leaders by heading our Nature/Outdoor Living Skills Program, this summer!
Live at Camp in a rustic cabin on one hundred protected woodland acres and help kids learn about the natural world around them and build basic camping and survival skills. Our setting includes vernal pools, streams, a huge lake, plus all the Maine flora and fauna associated with our wooded setting.
In addition to the Nature/OLS program, we offer a range of traditional summer camp activities - minus the playing fields and team sports that kids need to take a break from occasionally! So, if you also love to sail, canoe, or windsurf, create items from clay, or sketch & paint, or sew and craft creatively, or cluster arrows on a target, or perform in shows and dance, or swim, or ride horses, or play tennis... we have you covered! Most staff teach several activities, some only one or two. Whatever your passions and strengths we would love to have you share them with our Camp Family!
As the Head of Nature/OLS, we will train you to lead in our community and set you up for success as a leader of peers, an instructor, and a Cabin Counselor. You get to live with the same group of kids all summer, so you really connect with them and have a major influence on their experience here and life after they return home, with new confidence and competence developed in our setting. You only teach kids who have chosen to focus on your activity for the summer, allowing you to plan classes and courses to suit their age, interests, and skill/knowledge levels. You too will leave Camp feeling a real sense of satisfaction and achievement, while possessing a stronger set of skills that will transfer to life and work beyond Camp.
Please check out our website and then let's chat about your summer goals, academic/internship needs, and desired work experience to see if this is a good fit for you!
