Summary

Cape Henlopen State Park's beaches attract thousands of visitors who enjoy everything from ocean swimming, boating, fishing, and kayaking to clamming, paddle-boarding and wind-surfing. But Cape Henlopen offers more than just the ocean and bays - including deep historical and cultural connections to our communities and nation. Fort Miles, located within the park, is a special place for history enthusiasts, veterans, families, or anyone interested in learning about Delaware stories, Delaware heroes and Delaware’s role in WWII.

Camp Director-Park Interpreter is responsible for the supervision of campers, the camp team and the camp program to ensure and maintain a fun, positive and safe camp environment. Requirements include:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  •  One year experience working in a camp program for children or young adults.
  •  One year experience in supervising groups, staff or volunteers.
  •  Knowledge of various recreational activities such as hiking, mountain biking, boating, rock climbing or swimming.
  •  Knowledge of local plants, animals or history.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).

Compensation Information

Camp Director - Park Interpreter: $15.50 - $17.00/hr
