The core of our outdoor educational staff at Bryant Pond and Greenland Point 4-H Camps is our counselors, which are integral to the success of our summer programs. Counselors lead groups of campers with from 6 to 12 participants ages 7 to 17, for week-long programs. This role requires a high level of enthusiasm for working with children of various ages with a strong dedication to safety and fun. We offer a wide array of outdoor focused programs based on conservation education, wilderness survival skills, naturalist, and adventure. Each week, we offer 10-12 different programs, providing a diverse and changing schedule. Being a camp counselor at Greenland Point will be one of the most rewarding experiences available!

Qualifications: ● Minimum of 21 years of age ● Previous camp experience or working with youth preferred ● Must have a desire to work with various age groups ● Must be a positive role model ● Good communication skills ● Current Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguard Certification or be willing to attend training ● Interest or background in the outdoors: hiking, nature, hunting, fishing, canoeing, swimming, etc. ● Willing to live and work in a community setting with changing program needs and focuses. ● Attend a week-long staff training at Bryant Pond prior to the start of camp.

Responsibilities: ● Lead programs for various ages, Sunday through Friday ● Supervise campers and ensure safety and risk management policies are followed. ● Plan lessons, lead activities, mentor campers, and provide opportunities for campers to learn and explore the outdoors through highquality experiences. ● Perform camp chores that benefit the greater community. ● Attend staff meetings and debriefs as scheduled. ● Provide basic first aid as needed ● Some staff will also be lifeguards, shooting sports instructors, trip leaders, or other leadership roles as warranted, and agreed upon, based on training. ● Provide overnight supervision in cabins or campsites ● Work closely with Camp Administrators to operate a fun and safe waterfront area ● Provide supervision and guidance to lifeguard staff and other staff when they are supervising swimming activities

Compensation Information

Schedule and Compensation:

Salaries start at $500 per week

● Typically Sunday through Friday, with occasional weekend programming. ● Sunday 9:30 a.m.-Friday 2 p.m. unless otherwise scheduled ● 1 off block each full program day (Monday thru Thursday) ● 6 weeks of camp programs plus 1 week of staff training *LG, TLT, or WFA may be scheduled at other times. ● Room and Board are included ● Lifeguards will be trained as required
