Summary
The Utah Conservation Corps (UCC) Recruitment Specialist (Program Assistant II) will assist UCC in reaching its recruitment goals by directly increasing program awareness, networking, outreach, site visits, and developing and distributing print media. This position is responsible for tracking the efficacy of recruitment platforms, managing UCC’s social media presence, and assisting with developing an adaptive and strategic comprehensive recruitment strategy. This position is directly supervised by the Marketing Coordinator.
This is a full-time benefited position. It is telework eligible within the state of Utah. Telework outside of the state of Utah is subject to review and approval by the University prior to a job offer being extended.
75% - Assists UCC staff in the recruitment and selection of UCC AmeriCorps members.
- Optimize UCC recruitment and outreach strategies to increase the applicant pool.
- Develop additional recruitment and outreach strategies as guided by UCC DEI Strategic Plan to recruit diverse populations for general and specialty field crews.
- Receive and review applications, conduct interviews, check references, and refer applicants to appropriate office/position.
- Track efficacy of current recruitment platforms, make recommendations based on data collected.
- Under the direction of the Marketing Coordinator to develop UCC Master Recruitment Plan and ensure implementation across offices.
- Collect and analyze data to assist Marketing Coordinator in determining program offerings based on needs and recruitment capacity.
Outreach, Communications, Marketing - 20%
- Maintain and update position announcements on job boards to reflect current recruitment needs and opportunities.
- Strategize, implement , and monitor UCC recruitment though social media.
- Assist Marketing Coordinator in ensuring a cohesive and appropriate organizational message and presence.
- Represent UCC at in-person events, including attending job fairs, conferences, and other outreach events.
Other Duties - 5%
- Respond to general inquiries from UCC websites, social media and the public in a timely manner.
- Engage and support an inclusive work environment, particularly for underrepresented populations within the organization and the communities UCC serves.
- Participate in organizational-wide teams, projects, and initiatives that support the work of the Strategic Plan goals.
- Work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends.
Qualifications:
Minimum
- Previous experience with recruitment, outreach, and/or communication functions.
- Working knowledge of conservation, national service, or corps fieldwork.
- Ability to successfully work in a fluid, changing work environment and meet expectations while teleworking, working independently, or with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and applications, or similar platforms.
- Valid Driver’s License and Insurable Driving Record per Personnel Policies.
- Must be able to pass the organization’s criminal history check requirements.
Preferred
- Experience and/or knowledge of social media sites such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and others, including using social media analytics and search engine optimization.
- Experience working with and recruiting diverse populations
- Photography and/or videography experience.
- Knowledge of AmeriCorps/National Service, community volunteerism, environmental education, non-profit organizations, and natural resource conservation issues

Compensation Information
$25,670 - $35,931, commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits
