Part time seasonal position for 7 weeks of summer camp M-F 9:30am-3:30pm

Summary
EverWild (est. 2016) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit committed to engaging and mentoring children and families to develop a meaningful connection to the Earth. EverWild serves hundreds of children, Pre-K through teens, and adults with nature immersion classes, forest preschool and kindergarten, summer camps, overnight trips, and workshops across the greater Los Angeles area.

● You have First Aid & CPR certification or ability to get them upon hiring.

● You have experience working with children in a summer camp/educational/outdoor
setting.

● You are in good physical condition, are able to work outdoors, and able to lift large
and/or heavy objects.
Additional Skills:

● You are familiar with the trails and beaches in our area.

● You have experience working with organizations offering nature-based programming.

● You are skilled with Google Suite/Workspace, Google Drive/Sheets, Gmail, Facebook,
and WhatsApp.
What the job looks like:
You and your co-mentor will provide support and mentorship to up to 12 children in 100% outdoor spaces throughout Los Angeles. Your days will be structured around EverWild’s rhythm, and include child-led experiential learning, projects that connect children to place, free play, group games, crafting and art, wild harvesting and making, survival skills, and nature exploration. You are responsible for making sure all children are accounted for and safe, carrying first aid kits and administering aid or making emergency calls if necessary and upholding EverWild behavioral and safety policies. You will be in communication with your co-mentor on planning, projects, and materials and prepare materials ahead of class time. You will be in communication with families before and after class and schedule additional calls or emails if needed supported by the Program Manager.
Summer Work Week:
Camps run Mon - Fri 9:30am-3:30pm

● Part-time employment is on an as needed basis and may vary from 6 hrs/week to 30
hrs/week including .5 hrs/day for paid prep/planning per day. Work days may include

Part time hourly position: $21/hour
