Summary
Who We Are: WREN (Willamette Resources and Educational Network) is a 501(c)3 non-profit based in the West Eugene Wetlands Field Office shared with the Bureau of Land Management. The team at WREN includes 6 volunteer board members, one full-time staff member, a half-time program assistant, and a six-month, full-time AmeriCorps intern. Founded in 2001, WREN’s mission is to educate and promote land stewardship through programs and partnerships, highlighting the application of scientific research in the management of critical habitats. We engage both youth and adult learners through local Wetland and Oak Prairie/Savanna ecosystems education.
Position Overview: WREN’s Program Coordinator makes up a vital part of WREN’s staff. The program coordinator manages and leads program to educate schoolchildren and adults about threatened and endangered species in Wetlands and Oak Prairie/Savanna ecosystems. They teach a variety of programs, both indoors and outdoors, providing classroom programs and field trips, and community programs for adults and families. The program coordinator recruits and trains community volunteers in supporting programs.
Location: BLM's West Eugene Wetlands Field Office at 751 S. Danebo Ave. Eugene, OR. 97402 and various locations in Lane County for offsite programs. Some remote work is possible.
WREN’s Remote Work Policy: All WREN employees may incorporate remote work into their scheduled weekly work schedule. Employees must be in the office for regular staff meetings and for all in-person education programs. All work schedules must be approved by the employee’s supervisor in advance. WREN does not provide laptop computers or internet support for remote work. In office desktops are provided. WREN operates on Google and Microsoft Suites of products.

Essential Job Functions:
- Teach classroom programs, co-lead wetland field trips, family programs, and community outreach
- Coordinate with teachers and WREN staff to schedule classroom visits and field trips
- Recruit and coordinate volunteer guides for WREN’s Wetland Wanders and classroom field trips
- Market WREN’s programs and events including a variety of social media tools
- Keep WREN’s calendars and website up to date with program information
- Support WREN’s administrative tasks including grant writing, fundraising, curriculum development, program evaluation, and partnership coordination.
- Create WREN’s quarterly newsletters
- Prepare a monthly report for WREN’s Board and attend board meetings as needed
Job Requirements:
- Experience teaching a variety of ages in the outdoors and classrooms
- Some knowledge of, and enthusiasm for learning, the Animals and Plants of the Willamette Valley
- Communicate clearly in writing and speech, particularly in the preparation of content for social media
- Familiarity with Google Suite including Google Drive, Google Calendar, and Gmail
- Willing to learn WordPress to edit and update WREN’s website, and create social media content
- Maneuver on unpaved trails with moderate elevation changes
- Comfortable with 'Public Speaking' and being an advocate for WREN
- Approach your work with creativity, thoughtful ideas, and a collaborative mindset
Position Allocation
- 50% Program delivery: classroom programs, field trips and events
- 15% Program planning: scheduling programs, preparing materials, selecting activities
- 15% Volunteer recruiting and training: working with partners to recruit a variety of program volunteers
- 10% Marketing and networking with schools and teachers, other community members
- 5% Office management
- 5% Professional growth and learning

Compensation Information
Position Type: 1.0 FTE, 40 hrs/week non-exempt
Pay Range: $38,000-40,000 annual salary, which includes a $300 monthly medical stipend
