Summary

Position Summary

Our Education Director provides education program leadership, directs a variety of environmental education programming to reaching youth, adults, and families, in addition to supporting the work of staff and community members/volunteers the supports WREN's Mission and objectives. This position will develop programs that share the science and practices undergirding the 'How and Why' preserving healthy the critical plant and animal habitat is necessary for the survival of native threatened and endangered species. Successful applicants will be self-motivated, inspired to make a difference in their professional community, and bring substantial experience in environmental education, working with grants, and running a non-profit. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for community education on local ecosystems, especially the wetlands and uplands which are an important community resource. We host school field trips in the West Eugene Wetlands and lead in-classroom lessons, with our curriculum focused on oak and wetland prairie habitats on public lands. Our organization leads context-, place-, and local lands-based program to reach all learners. These include our adult and community program 'Wetland Wanders', our Family Exploration Days held in the summer on public lands, and classroom, afterschool programs. The Education Director will be the lead in designing new program, improving existing materials, evaluating our programs. And to increase our capacity, in recruiting and preparing volunteers, interns to become presenters.

Compensation Information

Full Time Salary range is from $42,000-48,000, depending on experience. We also provide a monthly health stipend of $300.
