The part-time Program Assistant provides logistical support to Educators and Administrative staff during educational programs and is ideal for a candidate interested in entering the Outdoor Education field. You will work closely with the Day Manager and Site Manager to address maintenance, logistics, and emergency responses, as needed.

What You Will Do:

The part-time Program Assistant provides logistical support to Educators and Administrative staff during educational programs and is ideal for a candidate interested in entering the Outdoor Education field. You will work closely with the Day Manager and Site Manager to address maintenance, logistics, and emergency responses, as needed. 

 

This position takes place at our campus in Prince William Forest Park (Triangle, VA) and cannot be performed remotely.

 

Your primary job will be to:

  • Support logistics for student group arrivals and departures
  • Support group mealtimes on arrival and departure days
  • Complete basic daily care tasks on campus, including cleaning and checking cabins, campfire areas, creek area, and non-residential buildings
  • Communicate maintenance needs to the Operations Manager
  • Assist with emergency responses as needed
  • Support the Day Manager and Education Manager with daily tasks as assigned

 

Compensation:

  • $20/hr 
  • Schedule: 8:30-4:30, 1-3 days a week, Monday, Wednesday, and/or Friday
  • Option for a 403b retirement plan with employer match after six months
  • Paid sick leave

  • Willingness to learn and be open to feedback
  • Ability to form positive relationships with other NatureBridge staff, Park Service employees, other Park Partners, program participants, and visiting public. 
  • First Aid/AED Certification or willingness to acquire
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in the workplace.
