Ecology Center Camp Director

Join the Ecology Center seasonal staff for an exciting summer with summer camp participants! Ecology Center summer camps focus on environmental education and nature discovery in Evanston, Illinois just north of Chicago. Get hands-on experience managing staff, working with children, and delivering science lessons and nature activities. Camp staff receive training before and during the summer camp season to support their professional growth.

Camp Directors are responsible for the supervision and safety of children ages 3-13 and camp day coordination and instruction. Camp directors plan and lead science and nature education, activities, and games for camp participants. Depending on the age group of participants, camp sessions may include field trips, overnight camping, canoeing and fishing. Directors supervise counselors, assistant counselors and volunteers and are responsible for communication with the Program Coordinator concerning these individuals. Directors regularly communicate with caregivers of camp participants regarding their progress and behavior in the camp setting. Training session occur during the weeks of May 30 - June 9 along with online training. The summer camp season is June 5 through August 12.
