Nature Day Camp Assistant

While you may be asked to occasionally fill-in for counselors, this is an administrative position that runs 8:30 - 3:00, Monday through Friday. You may also serve as a presenter on topics that you are especially interested in. The ideal candidate is fun, creative, outdoors-inclined, and available for the work weeks between June 19th and August 11th.

Qualities we are looking for: 

• Passionate about environmental education
• Able to plan, implement, and evaluate field trips
• Exceptional at public speaking and communications
• Able to remain level-headed in dynamic and sometimes unpredictable situations
• Accustomed to an active lifestyle; you will be standing and moving for up to 7 hours daily
• Able to plan, implement, and evaluate meaningful educational experiences
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified

Responsibilities:

• Make decisions regarding counselors, counselors-in-training, and programming
• Instruct and support counselors and counselors-in-training
• Keep records of camper health forms, allergies, and parental concerns
• Ensure that guest presenters and field trip hosts are compensated in a timely manner
• Shop for supplies as needed
• Provide supplemental and specialized environmental education
• Complete other duties as assigned

This position is located at Green Valleys Watershed Association's headquarters at Welkinweir, a 224-acre property of wetlands, forest, and meadows in East Nantmeal Township, PA.
